Install Crictime on your Android TV
The TV app is not in the Play Store. You get it with a free helper app and a short code. The TV remote is all you need. Set aside three or four minutes.
This is your code. You type it in step 2.
For TVs and boxes with Android TV or Google TV: Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips, Xiaomi boxes, Chromecast with Google TV and others.
Is your TV a Fire TV Stick, a Samsung or an LG?
Fire TV Stick: Crictime has no Fire TV app at present. Use the Silk browser on the Fire TV: open play.crictime.ch and choose a match.
Samsung or LG smart TV: these TVs only take apps from their own store. Open play.crictime.ch in the TV's web browser. If the video will not play there, mirror your phone's screen to the TV.
1 Put Simple Downloader on the TV
Open the Play Store on your TV. Search for simple downloader.
Choose Simple Downloader, the app with the purple icon. Apps with orange icons and similar names are different apps; leave them.
Press Install, then Open.
2 Key in the code
Simple Downloader has one long bar at the top. Select it and type 112233. Then press the arrow at the end of the bar.
The TV app starts to download. It is about 43 MB, so give it up to a minute.
3 Approve the install
The TV now says Simple Downloader may not install unknown apps. This message is normal on a first install.
Choose Settings in that message. Find Simple Downloader in the list and switch it to Allowed. Press back.
The install carries on. Choose Install when the TV asks.
Google TV devices often hide the switch until developer options are on. Unhiding it takes a minute, and then you return here.
✓ Finished
The app is in the apps row of your TV's home screen. You may have to scroll the row. Open it and pick a match with the remote, or see this month's matches first.
When it goes wrong
The TV says "App not installed"
The TV has run out of space. Remove an app you no longer use. Delete the downloaded file in Simple Downloader, then enter the code again.
The code does nothing
Make sure the app is Simple Downloader with the purple icon. The code works only there.
Type the code in the bar at the very top: digits only, no spaces. If a list of search results appears, the TV searched for the number and did not open it.
